"My first introduction to Karen Pavicic and Centre Line Stables was in 1998. That year I was lucky enough to lease Delight, Karen's grand prix school master. Unfortunately, it was only for a brief time as his life was cut short by a painful lameness. However, having experienced a new level of horsemanship I was keen to continue with Karen. I purchased Fragonard as a two year old in 1998. I bought him impulsively when I fell in love with a video clip of him! Fragonard was a beautiful horse but because of chronic pain issues I never rode him, and he also grew too big for me. I enjoyed every minute of owning him. It was very rewarding to watch the Karen train Fragonard to Prix St. George and ultimately, she found a wonderful home for him too.

In 2004 I decided that I wanted to get back in the saddle. I had owned and ridden two horses in the 1990's; neither was well suited to dressage. This time I was determined to get off to the right start with a suitable horse. I had seen for myself that Karen had considerable expertise at picking good horses and match them to a rider's ability and personality. Karen took a liking to a green four year old that she had a video of. He was in Montreal, so we jumped on a plane to see him. It was apparent that this athletic youngster had an outstanding character and temperament and with a bit of training Karen felt that he could be the horse I was looking for. Well, I can't say enough about what a wonderful horse 'Sukhi' has grown into. With Karen's dedicated training program, and supportive lessons I believe, for the first time (better late than never) that I am making progress in dressage. I enjoy every minute spent with this great little horse! Sukhi is more than I could have imagined a horse could be. Every time I ride I learn something more about this wonderful sport. I thank my two generous teachers - Karen and Sukhi."

We assessed a number of different prospects, and the mutually respectful relationship between Karen and her European counterparts was apparent.
